Our Mission

The Space Economy Society at Haileybury educates students about exciting career paths in the emerging Space Economy. Our mission is to explore the intersection of space with disciplines such as medicine, law, technology, and more, showcasing that the Space Economy offers opportunities for individuals from all academic backgrounds.

Haileybury is the first co-ed school in the country to establish a society dedicated to the Space Economy. With strong engagement, our sessions attract around 30 students each month and have seen over 60 participants in special events. This makes it the largest society in the school’s history.

Our activities include hosting guest speakers, collaborating with other societies, and organizing educational trips. Notable speakers have included Helene Huby, CEO of The Exploration Company, and we’ve conducted joint sessions with psychology, biology, and environmental societies. The Space Economy Society also works closely with Haileybury’s CubeSat program, which is on track to make us the first secondary school in the country to launch a CubeSat.

We are expanding internationally, with new chapters planned in Oman, Dubai, and the United States, connecting students globally and achieving our mission of fostering awareness and innovation in the Space Economy.
